The Fate of NCIS

I can remember sitting in my living room as a ten year old, thrilled to hear the theme song to JAG emanate from my TV. I was a die-hard fan of Harmon Rabb Jr. and Sarah McKenzie who kicked ass, took names and dragged their audience through the ups and downs of a complicated ten year relationship. It was the tension between Harm and Mac that kept JAG alive and made the show the most popular military themed program since M*A*S*H* So when JAG ended in 2005 I was beyond sad, but the way that the show ended was (in my opinion) perfect. The audience finally got to see Harm and Mac become a couple and share their wedding news with their best friends/coworkers. The love story in JAG was handled great (although there could have been more Harm/Mac moments) and it now contrasts starkly with how how NCIS' love story was handled. JAG went off the air and NCIS (same creator) came on the scene. It was pretty much an instant hit and it provided audiences with more suspensef...

A Window In

I am convinced that I am truly weird. At ten years old I was watching JAG and building model F-14's. I daydreamed endlessly and wished that my artistic skills could be capable of depicting them. And the things they never even considered - were the things that I worried about. Even now, as a teacher, I have yet to meet a student who is anything like me. And it makes me wonder if there is anyone out there like me. Keenly aware. Cautious. Extroverted. Anxious at times. Strongly grounded in my ...

JAG Fever

I love JAG. I love JAG so much it's not even funny. I've been watching JAG since I was a little kid building Legos on our TV room table. It made me love Harm & Mac and F-14's and the law. My favorite show was on for 10 years and in my mind is a wonderful catalog of every episode and important moment. It was my first TV addiction and my first shipper show, rooting for Harm and Mac. And I really remember all the Christmas episodes and have been missing the show so I thought I'd make a JAG filled blog post. You are welcome. The end of an era: "The final episode, “Fair Winds and Following Seas”, which aired April 29, 2005, saw Harm and Mac assigned different stations: Harm in London, Mac in San Diego. They finally confront their feelings and decide to get married. The episode ends with Bud tossing ADM Chegwidden’s JAG challenge coin to decide who will give up their career to be with the other. However, in keeping with JAG tradition, the ...
