Designated Doodler

It's not much to look at on the outside Infact, most people pass them up Lying on the hard ground Black and brown and gray speckled But I know what it is I pick it up I take it back And slice it open Hardly like a sharp knife through butter It groans and fractures And along a squiggly line it splits in half The inside gleams It sparkles Shining at the thought that this is the first time it has ever been seen Rolling emerald hills cascade down its walls The crystals take the shape of the forest And manifest their own tiny solid mineral biosphere  Resembling green tree tops from above A world exists within this rock And something about it makes me want to climb inside The tiny confines of this unsuspecting object Would be cozy, I'm sure Inside it would be quiet And smell of Earth Cool as glass I could get lost on its reflective slopes And traverse a landscape Never before seen, Never touched All my own

I am writing to you from the beautiful state of columbines, mountains, beer, and endless biking trails. Contrary to what you may assume, I did not come here to get high. I came here to enjoy the views and attempt to find inner peace or pokemon or something. But as usual, life finds little ways to add stress into the mix. But in this moment, I choose to let stress go, and embrace the beauty. So now, I will share the beauty with you, enjoy! I still haven't accepted the fact that I have to work on Memorial Day...is that even legal? I mean...is it? There's probably only a handful of corporate companies that are working on Memorial Day (it's not like we're in retail)...and I happen to work for one of them. Don't get me wrong, I love my job. However, since I also work teaching art on the weekends, I usually only have one work-free day a week. I really could have used two :( So to cope with the madness I'm making delicious cream cheese swirled brownies and my awesome coworker is bringing me a Starbucks (because she's precious :) So we're going to make the best of the situation. All the big wigs and people who have vaca time will be gone...so more brownies for us! I've also decided that this blog post shouldn't be all BLAH BLAH so I'm including "Snippets from my life" One of the paintings I taught a couple of weeks ago. This is mine. I love geology jokes......
