I love Orange is the New Black. I love the questions it raises about humanity, morality and our country's jacked up criminal justice system. While at TCU I attended a seminar held by falsely imprisoned men who had lost decades for crimes they didn't commit. I have such a passion for criminal justice and it makes me sick that we throw people into a system that only hardens them and encourages recidivism. I'm all for justice. But I'm also for humanity. I can't even explain the many ways my heart broke hearing these men talk about how they were scapegoated for crimes they didn't commit. One of them wasn't even in the same state as the crime when it was committed! It's absolutely unreal...the horror stories that are out there told by people who have lost huge chunks of their lives to a broken system. And who do we have to fix this system? Politicians who don't care? Prison administration who just wants to fill racks and cut cost...

So in case you haven’t heard, British Harvey is coming to town…and it ain’t big enough for the both of them. British actor Max Beesley is assuming the role of Stephen Huntley, Harvey’s “across the pond” double. This will undoubtedly put more tension in the office and create even more strain on poor Mike, who has enough people as it is to hide his secret from. However , I think there are excellent opportunities to explore between Stephen, Harvey and Mike. I would LOVE it if, in this season of Suits, Mike’s genius was more pronounced. He ought to be kicking ass and being so brilliant that everyone takes notice. I think it would be delectable if Stephen were to take an interest in Mike, which would undoubtedly piss off Harvey. Harvey and Mike’s relationship is hanging by a thread, especially after the finale where Harvey thinks Mike has betrayed him. I could assume that their friendship has weakened some and that Stephen would see it as an opportunity to woo Mike. But ...

Shawn:  You can't use a fictional movie to solve a crime. Gus:  You once tried to solve a crime using the movie Pretty in Pink! Shawn:  That's completely different. Pretty in Pink is more of a docudrama.

I would like to take a second and discuss last night's episode. First off, I want to slap Auggie for interrupting Annie when she wanted to have a heart-to-heart. But the big issue is the fact that Annie was shot by her former boss. The writers of the show really wrote themselves in deep, and it'll be interesting to see how they get her and the other characters out of this situation. First off, the CIA considers her a traitor, which means she'll have to redeem herself. Second off, her love is (most likely) dead and she sustained a major trauma which isn't something you can bounce back from easily. She also destroyed the trust she had with Joan and Auggie by concealing her previous activities. And likewise, trust isn't something easily rebuilt. I can already see her going into a coma or something and "dreaming" about Auggie. But I'm not sure that's exactly what the audience wants. It seems like a stint to buy the characters more "recovery...
