The Fate of NCIS

I can remember sitting in my living room as a ten year old, thrilled to hear the theme song to JAG emanate from my TV. I was a die-hard fan of Harmon Rabb Jr. and Sarah McKenzie who kicked ass, took names and dragged their audience through the ups and downs of a complicated ten year relationship. It was the tension between Harm and Mac that kept JAG alive and made the show the most popular military themed program since M*A*S*H* So when JAG ended in 2005 I was beyond sad, but the way that the show ended was (in my opinion) perfect. The audience finally got to see Harm and Mac become a couple and share their wedding news with their best friends/coworkers. The love story in JAG was handled great (although there could have been more Harm/Mac moments) and it now contrasts starkly with how how NCIS' love story was handled. JAG went off the air and NCIS (same creator) came on the scene. It was pretty much an instant hit and it provided audiences with more suspensef...

Closing Out 2014

Brace yourselves, it's time for the obligatory year-end blog post. But why should I bore you with tales of my life? Because it's fun for me, that's why! I learned a lot in 2014, and some of those lessons learned were tough. As if I didn't trust people enough to begin with, my coworker at my last job snooped around my desk, read documents on my desk and told me we were never friends. Despite having invited her over to my house, bringing her cupcakes and asking her if she wanted to take breaks with us. I'm such a monster right? But you know what? It's all good, I wish only good things for all of my former coworkers. Anyway, I left that job and advertising all together. I'm not sure if I'll return to advertising or not, but I have discovered a deep seeded love for teaching. I busted my hump over the summer - going to eight hour alternative teaching classes and passing four teaching tests. Two of them were only a week apart. I have a good job, and I...

Spector vs. Huntley

Image
So in case you haven’t heard, British Harvey is coming to town…and it ain’t big enough for the both of them. British actor Max Beesley is assuming the role of Stephen Huntley, Harvey’s “across the pond” double. This will undoubtedly put more tension in the office and create even more strain on poor Mike, who has enough people as it is to hide his secret from. However , I think there are excellent opportunities to explore between Stephen, Harvey and Mike. I would LOVE it if, in this season of Suits, Mike’s genius was more pronounced. He ought to be kicking ass and being so brilliant that everyone takes notice. I think it would be delectable if Stephen were to take an interest in Mike, which would undoubtedly piss off Harvey. Harvey and Mike’s relationship is hanging by a thread, especially after the finale where Harvey thinks Mike has betrayed him. I could assume that their friendship has weakened some and that Stephen would see it as an opportunity to woo Mike. But ...

Collegiate Truth

I have learned something about college; and unfortunately, it's that it can be really lonely. Don't get me wrong, I have lots of friends, but college isn't the roller coaster of pure awesome that so many people make it out to be. And the more stressors that are present, the more of your time is taken up and the more time is taken up the lonelier you feel. Rushing from one thing to the next, from one class to the next from one internship to a class, from class to a job from jobs to interviews from interviews to sorority meetings. It's more like a roller coaster of ridiculousness that involves odd sleeping habits, poor eating habits and a constant struggle with parking, papers, tests, projects and lots of TUMS. My second most popular drink is Pepto Bismol and ZONE protein bars, Nilla Wafers and Yoplait are keeping me alive. Anyway, so here I am, half-studying, half nursing an upset stomach and fully invested in watching this new episode of HOUSE M.D. I'm not quite sur...
