Birthday Post

I share too much, or so I've been told.

I've been warned about internet creepers and creepers in general. But before my birthday, I like to look back at the past year and see what's been accomplished/what I'm grateful for. It's good to write this shit down now, before I forget it.

1) Landing two awesome jobs. One full time, one part time. My coworkers are awesome at my real job and at my less real job, I've learned that I've got what it takes to guide 50+ tipsy adults through a painting.

2) Getting published twice. Once in a poetry journal and once in "Review of My Cat," which you can buy HERE.

3) Having an online presence! My little baby blog surpassed 11,195 visitors this year! AND, a grand total of 48,475 have read my fanfiction, from last December to today.

My favorite drawing from this year:

My favorite painting from this year:

4) Being in a TV commercial and working at a place where there is an abundance of goodies by the fax machine, where they just give away awesome fabrics and designer lamp shades, where I get to control all of the social media, and where we regularly did yoga throughout the spring/summer.

5) Watching our Bible study be born - I feel insanely blessed to have such an incredible group. And I thoroughly enjoy the stuff we do together; I had such a fantastic time at the halloween party I threw!

6) Going to PA this past summer was like…the best thing ever. It was a trip I'll never forget.

7) I also became completely obsessed with Star Trek this year. I wouldn't say that I'm a full-blown nerd, because I only really like the original series and the reboot movies. I really do want Tribble slippers though...and maybe a Fat Head of Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine...maybe I am a nerd.

The print is the USS Enterprise

Band of the Year:
Marianas Trench

Top 3 Songs of This Year:
Beam Me Up by CAZZETTE
I Was A Fool by Tegan and Sara
So Soon by Marinas Trench

Something I Did This Year for the First Time:
I made paleo cupcakes! The icing was incredible, I learned how to use coconut oil, and I made Laura happy for her birthday, yay!

Favorite Movie of the Year:
You already know the answer is Star Trek Into Darkness. Between Bones, Kirk, Spock and Khan, the hotness was almost too much to bear. BUT...the latest Hunger Games movie was AWESOME, and now I'm on the third book.

Best Thing Bought:
Probably, definitely, my phone. But I got this book last weekend called "Draw Your Life," and it's sooooooooooooo great. You draw what it tells you to, using your observational skills and badass talents and end up turning the book into a really cool mini portfolio full of fast sketches.

New Favorite Food:
Acorn squash...YUM. Slather that thing in butter & brown sugar, bake it and enjoy. Super delish.

Things I've Learned:
Well I've learned a lot this year...like how people can be terrible mentors and friends. But I've also learned that you should never put a can of Dr. Pepper in the freezer and then forget about it. ... And that being an adult is really boring... And that aspertame is like super bad for you...but it's still so damn tasty. I've learned other stuff too...but oh well...

Area's Improved:
I feel like a super proofer. My proofing skills have gotten a lot better, and they were above par to begin with. I'm so glad my boss is awesome, it makes life so much easier, and it makes me do better at work.

Things That Need Work:
I should probably clean more.
