Digress
As I sit here sipping my Pike's blend and eating baby Kit-Kat's I'm wondering where I went wrong in life. No, just kidding. But seriously, who buys baby candy? If you go to get a Kit-Kat wouldn't you rather it be full sized? And why do they call that tiny candy "Fun Sized" as if getting less chocolate is somehow a deal.
But I digress.
You know, it's amazing how much faster time goes by when you have something solid to do. That's exactly why I wrote blogs and drew cartoons in many of my college classes. A word to the wise though, make sure said prof's aren't following you on Twitter where you mention your blog update.
College truly ruins everything. High school is a hellish nightmare that entraps you for eight hours a day and then you go to college and you're all like..."oh, I can go home and nap now!" "I have freedom, and an active social life and spare time and a newfound appreciation for Ultimate Frisbee." And so you take this newfound love of college to the bookstore where you proceed to buy as many items of collegiate wear as you can.
Then you get out of college and are like..."shit, no more naps, no more social life, no more fun, no more Ultimate Frisbee." You're back to eight laborious hours that don't involve entertainment whatsoever...That and you realize that you've been left with an entire arsenal of collegiate clothes that you can never wear anywhere because now you're stuck in heels and a dress for ten hours a day and seldom make it to the gym. It's a difficult realization.
Sometimes I day dream about naps; about how the pillow would feel against my face and how the soft sheets would feel wrapped around me. I also think about delicious foodstuffs that await at home and the Law and Order marathon that hasn't ceased for ten years that I'm probably missing right now.
I don't exactly miss college. Don't get me wrong. It was no picnic. Well I take that back because I did picnic at the Botanical Gardens...they sell the BEST flowers and have an amazing restaurant...but that's beside the point. College isn't super but I'd much rather take a day in two and three hour blocks and get the changes of scenery that accompany those changes. I also miss nearly running obnoxious sorostitutes over on my bike. At this point I am an expert biker and none of those skills are being put to work out here in the work world. It's sad.
Anyway to sum up this blog entry: tiny candy is a rip off, college ruins you for real life and the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens are BOSS.
That is all. Enjoy these pics.
